Engine Mounting Bolts

Got Grade 5 mounting bolts on the advise of the xlforum members (Their the Best Bunch of guys) all 3/8 24 thread rear bolts. They didn't have 7 inch 3/8 bolts for the front frame mount so I took a chance that 180x10mm would fit and .....they do...Lucky ;-) Engine goes home this weekend

New Custom Chrome Standard Sportster Tank

I just had to get this. Now I can cut up the other peanut tank I have and have some fun. Knowing I can always put this back on with the swingarm and have a fairly stock Ironhead

New Tensioner

Just need to clean the gasket surfaces then it engine back together at last :-))))))

High Temperature Clear Lacquer Disaster

Hycote Clear Lacquer is Rubbish no matter how clean the ally or how many light coats it forms globules and then milky area's. It also washes off with a cloth damped with Thinners. Two Pack High Temp Laquer seems the way to go. But in my case I will leave it out ;-( I will be polishing for the rest of my life ;-)

Primary Cover Polishing

Sheldon is as tired of this polishing as I am. But it will soon be over ;-)

Primary Tensioner

New one is on its way. I read some Horror stories from guys who had just replaced the nylon shoe. The replacement is to short and jumps out jamming the chain and causing all kinds of nasty side effects. So I shopped around and found the bracket shoe and retainer for €24 shipped from USA

Engine Polishing...on and on and on and on

I have started on the Primary thinking it would take the High Temp Clear coat ages to arrive but my local car shop got it in in 24 hours. why is it Motor Factors are so cool when you are doing something yourself and Bike Shops are such Shits when they realise you are doing the work and they aren't going to get labour cost from you. Answered My own Question There

Lathe Cleaned

I will get around to repainting it when the Ironhead project is further on down the road
